Wonderland Card

This is my first month playing along with the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog.  While I started a few weeks into the challenge, I wanted to be able to complete all of the challenges for the month.  This card completes the H2H challenges for the month of September.    The challenge for the week of September 5 is to use your favorite color combo.  This card showcases the Chocolate & Twilight Combo.   Actually I love anything with Chocolate…but Twilight works great with the Wonderland Paper Packet!  Supplies used include: Workshops on the Go Wonderland Kit, Cricut Art Philosophy Cart (snowflakes), Bling Assortment and Generic Grosgrain Ribbon.

In the spirit of joining challenges, I have also entered this card in the Freshly Made Sketches #4 Challenge.  This is the original sketch:

H2H Challenge Card

This card was done for the H2H Challenge, for the week of 9/26/11.  The challenge this week is to use a sentiment stamp only, no other stamps.   You could use any papers or embellishments, but only sentiment stamps.  This card was made with the Cricut Collection from Close To My Heart and the Roxie paper collection.  All embellishments were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  A little bling was added with Mocha Opaques Adhesive Gems.  Thanks for stopping by, check back soon for more project ideas.

H2H Challenge Card

I really need to set aside more time for creating.  So along those lines, I have joined the Heart to Heart Challenge Blog.  This challenge this week is to use cardstock only, no patterned paper in your design.  Three colors of cardstock are to be used.

Here is what I came up with.  All embellishments were cut with the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  The three colors are Pansy Purple, Cocoa and Colonial White.  The stamp set is D1306 Treasure Life.  I stamped the background saying with a second generation of Pansy Purple.  The stamped flower images were clear embossed and then I sponged Pansy Purple ink on top of the image.  The Cricut flowers were cut with Colonial White and then sponged with Pansy Purple.  I dyed the organdy ribbon with Pansy Purple ink to match. Baby Love Card

A cute and simple card to brighten someone’s day.  Who doesn’t love to get a card in the mail?  Supplies used include:

I had my heart set on using Dutch Blue and Pear for this card.  I had managed to run out of Pear Cardstock.  I simply used my rubber brayer and Pear ink to make my own!  Brayer your ink of choice onto the White Daisy Cardstock, let dry and you can not tell the difference!  Obviously more time consuming than having the cardstock on hand, but it was a quick fix. I sponged on the sky and grass background around the boy and girl.

Cricut Art Philosophy & Mayberry

Have I told you yet how much I love the new Art Philosophy Cartridge???  It seems I use some aspect from the cart on everything I create lately.  The cart has become a permanent fixture in my Cricut!  This card was made with the following supplies:

I hand cut the little banners on the card and applied them to a piece of Natural Hemp that I glued across the edge of the card.  The lack of ribbon on the card makes it great for mailing. The card has various layers, but is not too bulky.  Thanks for looking, check back soon for more project ideas!

Cricut Art Philosophy & Sonoma

I made this card for a card exchange in my Close To My Heart unit.  I was so excited to have one of the winning entries with this card!  This was one of my first cards made with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I cut the bird, wing and leaf from the cart and layered them on the card.

Supplies used include:
D1482 Love Life
Z2137 Olive Ink & Z2237 Re-inker

Just in case you are wondering about the supply list.  I did not have any Olive ribbon to match my card.  I used Olive re-inker and White Daisy ribbon to dye my own.   Dying your own ribbon is relatively simple.  I have found the easiest way to dye ribbon in bulk is with the help of a ziploc baggie.  I put reinker in my ziploc baggie, add a couple of drops of water, then add ribbon. Make sure the bag is tightly sealed!  Then simply move the ribbon around in the bag until the ink is absorbed.  I always start out with a small amount of reinker (3-4 drops), you can always add more later.  Once the ribbon has totally absorbed the re-inker, I remove the ribbon with my tweezers.  I then lay the ribbon out to dry.  Don't worry if your ribbon looks too dark, it will dry to a lighter shade. You could always speed the process by using your heat gun.  If the ribbon turns out too light of a shade, you can do the process again to darker the ribbon.

If you only need one piece of ribbon, you can easily dye the ribbon by running the ribbon over your ink pad.  I have found using a sponge dauber and holding the ribbon in place on the ink pad works well to get even coverage. Heat setting will quickly dry the dyed ribbon.

Hope you are finding time to create with the new Art Philosophy Cartridge!
