Freshly Made Sketches #49

It is time for a new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  The fun sketch this week is brought to us by Jen Mitchell. The sketch design features a square card with circle elements.  You are welcome to change up the shapes in the design.  I kept the square design, but added leaves in place of the circles.  With school back in session, fall is right around the corner!

I made a puddle pad to ink up my leaves.  What is a puddle pad?  A puddle pad can easily be made by adding re-inkers to a folded baby wipe.  Think of it as making your own custom ink pad, in a disposable form.  I added a few drops of Olive, Autumn Terracotta and Sunflower on my baby wipe, letting the colors run together.  I then inked up my image the same as you would with any ink pad.  You get a slightly different look with each inking.  Even if you do not have little ones in the house, baby wipes are great to have in the craft room.  I use them for cleaning up all sorts of spills.  They are super handy!

Beautiful card! Love the look of your leaves and thanks for sharing your Puddle Ink technique with us. I use baby wipes to clean my stamps in my craft room so I don't have to run to the kitchen or bathroom to clean my stamps. Saves me a lot of time.

Fabulous colour you've given these leaves! Love how they're popped up to! Thanks so much for sharing how you created your own ink pad! Thanks for sharing with us at Card Crafter's Circle!

Your card is sensational! Love the chicken wire embossing folder. It's the first I've seen it.
Your puddle pad is clever, I've messed up many things trying to ink the edges with a marker.

Wow, Allisa! You are quickly becoming one of my favorite stampers! This card is amazing. I love the 'puddle technique' and how it looks on this card. Very cool embossing, too.

Allisa, this is stunning!! I love your take on this sketch with the leaves and puddle pad. I must try that one day. It's gorgeous. How did you do the white diamond look? Or is that how the paper comes? Beautiful card.
