Fall Scarecrow Card
I love all of the yummy fall stamps on the September Stamp of the Month.  Plus the line images are perfect for trying out the new Exclusive Inks Markers!  The alcohol based markers color so smoothly with no streaks!  The best part....no special paper needed!  They are formulated to work great on Close To My Heart Paper!

No fall card is complete without some burlap!  I added a full piece of burlap ribbon behind my bow.  I then cut down a strip to make my bow.  I used one of the left over strips of burlap to thread my button!

I used a few more of the images on the inside of the card as well. The Basics Collections markers are delayed a few weeks.  My card begged for some brown tones!  I colored my images with a mix of the Close To My Heart markers and a few Copics.

My card is based on the sketch this week at Retro Sketches!  I am so happy that they have extended their deadline on Friday evenings….more of a chance for me to play!

If coloring is not your thing....here is a previous card I completed with no coloring!  The colors were added by paper piecing the stamp designs! You can view the full post here.

Banner Birthday Card

It is round or square week at Mojo Monday.  I started off with the square version and hope to be back this week with the round version.  For some reason, I thought I would have more crafting time when school started…..that is turning out to be not the case.  Instead of crafting, I seem to have homework duty!  One can only hope that a routine will settle in soon!

I thought the banner theme would be perfect for the Banners & Flags Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.  I have a little more embellishments on this card than my normal CAS designs.  I stuck with minimal layers to keep it on the simple side.  This really was a quick and easy card to make.  A few banners, strip of ribbon and a rolled flower.

I have seen numerous cards in blog land with the banners curled up.  I always tend to make sure every layer is firmly glued down!  I stepped out of my comfort zone and curled the edges of my banner.  I love the little bit of dimension that they add to the card.

The rolled flower was cut with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.  The leaves are canvas shapes from the Avonlea Collection.  My base background paper is hand stamped.
