Chipboard Monogram Sale!

Have you been checking out the Boxing Sale?  New items are listed each day at midnight (MT). Part of the sale offering today is the Chipboard Monogram Letters, which is the basis for my project.  Close To My Heart often offers home decor pieces in their product offerings.  The Monogram Letters are a great way to utilize your crafting supplies to create a unique home decor piece.

The chipboard letters are sturdy enough to be hung by themselves. For added protection, you can easily add your project to a frame.  The letters are 11 1/2" in size.  I placed my completed project in a shallow 12x12" shadow box. With the current sale, you can pick up the letters for only $2.70 each!

The flowers on this project were created with the retired Love Letters collection. I rolled the edges of all the flowers to give them more dimension and added gems to the centers. Everything was adhered with Liquid Glass adhesive.  If you  have yet to try Liquid Glass, it is an awesome liquid adhesive and works great for glossy accents as well!  It is my go to liquid adhesive.  I can not live without my ATG gun and my bottle of Liquid Glass! Close To My Heart often offers home decor projects for you to complete.  We have super cute wreath projects coming in January!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #348

Creating a quick Christmas card with the soon to be retired, Reindeer Crossing, stamp set.  I so love the December Stamp of the Month.  I know many of you are super organized and already had your Christmas cards created by the time this set was released.  Now is the time to snag it for your holiday scrapbook pages and to get a head start on next year's cards.  I always create Christmas cards all year long, so that I have a ready stash of unique cards to send out. I created this card based on the sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge-

All of my images were stamped with Espresso Ink and then color was added with Copic markers.  After coloring my pine boughs, I added a little bit of Diamond Stickles for some added shimmer. If you have yet to see the December Stamp of the Month, here is the complete set-

Freshly Made Sketches #415

I just received some fun, new to me, papers from Doodlebug Designs.  I say new to me, because I have no idea when they were released.  A fellow cardmaker was cleaning out her stash and I decided I "needed" them!  I love the fun bright colors, which are perfect for a birthday card! The moment I saw the the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, I knew it was a birthday card in the making!  Here is the original sketch design-

My card is super simple and includes a fun mix of manufacturers! My candles are die cut from the Hello pattern paper with My Favorite Things dies.  My "celebrate" sentiment is cut from the Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut Collection.  While, I am a huge fan of metal dies.....the Cricut is sooo versatile!  The ability to be able to re-size my images is priceless!  If you are in the market for any Cricut items, you can purchase them all through my affiliate link. I cut my Celebrate image sentiment three times and layered them together for more dimension. Added a little bling and called it done! Super simple and easy to mail!

CAS(E) this Sketch #350

I decided to keep it super simple for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge. I so  love the adorable papers in the Best Friends Furever promotion, that I decided to let them stand alone. If you have yet to view the promotion, it is super cute!  The papers work for dog or cat lovers...or in my case, both!  The papers are double sided, they feature a dog theme on one side and a cat theme on the other! Here is the original sketch design-

I simply matted my pattern paper and cut a couple of banner dies.  I stamped my stay pawsitive sentiment and added in a few faux stitches. If you have yet to see the Collection, here is a look at the bundle of products that is available at 20% off-

If you don't want or need it ALL, you can purchase the items individually as well.  You can find all the details here. This promotion ends December 31 or while supplies last!

Sketch Saturday #592

I finally made it back to the craft room, just in time to enter the Sketch Challenge at Sketch Saturday!  They have a super easy challenge this week, you get to pick any previous sketch!  I went with Sketch #326-

The sketch was a perfect fit for my Custom Ornament Thin Cuts!  I decided to mix things up and go with a fun shaker card!  Shaker cards are soo unexpected and really come together quickly! I might have slightly overfilled this one, but it has plenty of bling for the holidays! To create my card, I first die cut the stitched panel and then die cut the ornament shape out of the same panel.  I cut the ornament topper out of Evergreen cardstock, and "hung" the ornament with Silver Embellishing Thread. I then inked up my sentiment from the Stamp of the Month-Reindeer Crossing-

After my top panel was complete, I flipped it over and applied acetate to cover the window.  A quick tip-you can really use just about anything clear for your windows.  You know those clamshell cases that you purchase products in that everyone hates?  Those can easily have a second life in your craft room!  I keep a small stash of empty cases and just cut the acetate to fit.  I would much rather spend my money on stamps and dies, vs buying pristine acetate sheets. After applying the acetate, I adhere 3-D foam around the shape.  Then you can add a little or a lot of sequins and then adhere your bottom layer. Honestly, it took me way  longer to type this than it did to complete the card!

Freshly Made Sketches #413

I couldn't wait to ink up the December, Stamp of the Month, Reindeer Crossing.  I just love the images and sentiments in this set! I decided my Caribou would be the perfect stand in for the big squiggly design in this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge-

I dry embossed my background panel and added in a few sequins for more snowflakes.  I colored my Caribou with Copics.  I don't have Caribou in my area, so had to research their shading.  It was only after I colored my image that I saw that they actually change colors! Even their eyes change colors! So I might have ended up with a summer Caribou in my winter scene. Let's just say it is the first snowfall of the season and this guy has not changed colors yet!

I added in a pair of reindeer to the inside of my card as well.  I love how the texture of this stamp make them appear as if they were sketched in. If you have yet to see the full stamp set, here it is-

The Stamp of the Month can be added to a qualifying order for only $5.  You can check out all the details here.  The set is only available until December 31, 2019.
