The Paper Players #492

LeAnne has a new sketch challenge for us this week at The Paper Players!  The sketch is super simple, making endless possibilities for you to create with!  Here is the original sketch design-

My card is created with the super fun Through Thick & Thin stamp set, which was part of the National Scrapbooking Day specials.  Scrapbooking our current times is on my to do list, and this will be a great set for adding to my pages.  The set is available as part of a bundle, with supplies to create twenty cards.  Here is a look at the complete bundle-

My card is pretty basic.  I stamped my soap bottles in Sapphire ink and then added the soap with second generation Lagoon ink.  I added a touch of color to my soap bottle with a Copic marker.  The images were fussy cut and adhered with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  My sentiments were stamped in Intense Black ink.

All supplies by Close To My Heart, except where noted:

The Paper Players #491

We have a new challenge this week at The Paper Players! We want to see clean and simple masculine creations.  It is the perfect time to start working on your Father's Day cards.

I created my card with the Aurora Cricut Collection.  I just love how these images coordinate with the Aurora papers and stamps. The Cricut Collections give you so much more versatility than dies.  You can easily size the images to be a perfect match for your project.  When I design cards in Design Space, I start by creating a base the size of my finished project.  I then add images and re-size them to create my project. My sentiment is from the May Stamp of the Month, Time to Celebrate.

Time to Celebrate is a set of 28 stamps!  You can add this set to a qualifying order for only $5. This set is only available to purchase during the Month of May.

ConGRADulations

I am certainly getting some mileage out of my graduation card stamps....so much that I have even ordered new ones to add to the collection! I prefer to make all my cards unique, so sketch challenges have certainly been my friend!  I created this card based on the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches-

Since all of my cards are being mailed this year, I am trying to keep them on the simpler side....mostly for ease of mailing.  I sometimes worry about my multi layer creations making it through the mail stream!  My card is super simple.  I started with a panel of White Daisy cardstock and dry embossed with the Graduate Cap embossing folder.  My frame and center strip were both cut from the Stitched Frames Thin Cuts.  To make the center banner, I simply lined up a panel die cut and cut again to make the needed size.

Happy Graduation

The Stitched Together Cardmaking stamp set includes 23 stamps, so you have a variety of sentiments for many occasions.  I plan to get ALOT of mileage out of this stamp set.  In case you missed it, here is the complete set-

To create my card, I die cut a panel of White Daisy cardstock and dry embossed.  My graduation sentiment and cap were stamped in Intense Black ink.  I added color to my cap with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I die cut my thin happy in black three times and adhered together for added dimension and then mounted onto the orange shadow. Super simple with a touch of color to represent the grad's school.

CAS(E) this Sketch #371

Say Hello, to my new favorite sentiment stamp set!  The Stitched Together Cardmaking stamp set was an instant favorite of mine!  It is part of the Stitched Together line in the new May/June Close To My Heart catalog. I chose to  let the bold happy sentiment stand in for the shape on the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch-

My card really is CAS, with a few little details to make it shine!  I started with a panel of White Daisy cardstock, which I dry embossed and cut with a stitched panel die.  I then added in some color with Blue Skies paper and a stitched border of Candy Apple.  My happy sentiment shadow was cut in Candy Apple, with the top sentiment cut three times and layered together with Sapphire.  I stamped my birthday sentiment in Sapphire Pigment Ink and clear embossed.  A few silver sequins finish off the card.   Here is a look at the complete stamp set-

The Paper Players #490

Claire is hosting a color challenge this week at The Paper Players!  My card totally took a different turn that what I intended!  My original plan was for a one layer Mother's Day card...as you can tell we are far from that!  All was well...only needed to add my sentiment directly to the panel.  Since it was basically an all white card, I cleaned the Misti prior to adhering my stamp.  I wanted to make sure I did not end up with a stray ink mark.  (Insert drumroll here....) No worries about stray ink marks....but it appears the Misti was not totally dry and my sentiment totally moved! I was bummed, but just decided to change gears!  I still loved my tulip, so I die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die and added an extra layer to my card. A sympathy card just seemed more fitting, as I was so bummed about my mishap!  Here are the colors for you to play along with-

To create my card, I inked my tulip in black pigment ink and heat embossed in clear.  I added in color with Kuretake watercolors.  Considering my sentiment mishap....I did not want to end up losing my tulip over my haphazard splatters...so I went with a more controlled splatter by using Nuvo Crystal Drops. My sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white.

Mojo Monday #536

I  love creating custom birthday cards.  One of the joys of cardmaking is creating a card especially for the recipient.  Honestly, I can create a card in less time than it would take me to read through dozens in the card aisle!  I feel for those that are stuck in the card aisle trying to find the perfect card, as it rarely exists! I do custom cards by request....just need a theme or a person's likes or dislike's to create with! My card was created based on the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday-

I carried out the theme to the inside of the card as well-

I dug deep into the stash for my supplies, so don't fall too in love with those papers...chances are they are ancient!  The rope was fashioned from a piece of burlap ribbon, by removing the strands. My sentiment and horse were die cut three times and adhered together for added dimension on the card. The super cute Country Horse stamp and die set is still available to purchase in the Online Only Section.

Sunday Stamps #230

I always plan on having a supply of sympathy cards.....it seems they are often mailed out as soon as they are made.  I kept this one on the simple side, following the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps-

I so  love the look of water colors......but so struggle with just letting them be!  The new A Million Little Things stamp set is perfect for watercoloring! The flowers are loosely sketched, so the free flowing color is the perfect match!  Here is a look at the complete stamp set-

To create my card, I stamped my flower image onto watercolor paper with black pigment ink and embossed in clear.  I added in watercolor and some splatters with Kuretake watercolors. Those that know me, should be proud....I managed those splatters all by myself without splattering my whole desk in the process!   I am really a clean stamper...the struggle is real for any type of mixed media!  My sentiment was stamped in Versamark onto black cardstock and embossed in white.  I added in details with stitched dies and dry embossing my panel.

The Paper Players #489

It is Theme Challenge week at The Paper Players! Joanne is the hostess this week and wants to see cards that Make You Smile.  The You're Not Old stamp set has always made me smile, so that was my go to for today's card.

I kept my card on the CAS side.  I stamped my image in Intense Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol.  And, yes....my little lady does have purple hair.  Way back in grade school, I had a history teacher that tinted her hair to match her outfits!  I always preferred the purple hair!  While her hair was often the topic of conversation, that was the end of the fond memories.  My mother had the same teacher when she went to school and they were not friends.  It seems a generation later, the teacher still held a grudge!  The joys of growing up in a small town!  Here is a look at the complete stamp set, in case you missed it when it first came out-
