The Paper Players #474

We are having a Clean and Simple Challenge over at The Paper Players with a Fashion Fun theme!  I will admit, fashion is pretty far down my list of must haves! I tend to dress way more for comfort than anything!  Hence, I also have very few stamps that I would consider fashion related!  I do have an old favorite stamp set though, that actually had the dress form and shoes!  I chose to feature the dress form.  I thought it was a perfect for my sentiment.

I created my card based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches, keeping it Clean and Simple-

My sentiment stamp is from the retired Happiness Blooms stamp set.  This super fun set is still available in the Online Only Section of my website.  The Online Only Section is a great resource for fun Close To My Heart products that you might have missed out on!  Here is a look at the complete Happiness Blooms stamp set, with coordinating Thin Cuts dies-
To create my card, I stamped my images in Intense Black ink.  I then added color to my dress form with a Prismacolor pencil, blended out with Gamsol.  I die cut my panel with a MFT die to coordinate with the sketch.  A few sequins finish it off.  I popped up my top panel with 3-D foam to give the card more dimension.

I so love the ink splatters and texture in the Urban Collection. The papers are perfect for your masculine cards.  I created this card based on the sketch challenge at Try Stampin On Tuesday with the optional theme of Thank You.

The Urban papers did all the work on this card.  I stamped a fun script sentiment, added a few star stickers and called it done.  Urban is part of the Bring Back My Pack promotion and is only available until January 31.  Here is a look at the full collection-

Radiate Positivity

There is so much truth to this statement!  In a world of negative, be the positive!  It is so easy to get run down by all of the negativity in the world.  I hope to send a little positivity, one card at a time!  I created my card based on the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches-

My card was created with a pretty floral print from the Craft On Paper pack and the January Stamp of the Month, Everyday Magic. The January Stamp of the Month is perfect for sending out some positive vibes.  Here is a look at the complete set-

CAS(E) this Sketch #355

Hello everyone!  Excited to announce that I am a Guest Designer over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week! I have always been a huge fan, so was super excited to be asked to play along.  My card is slightly out of my element!  My normal style is clean with lots of layers.  I managed to keep the layers, but the splatters almost got the best of me! I have the same struggles with watercolors.  I so love the look, but the "must have it perfect" syndrome about does me in. Obviously there is no such thing as perfect splatters...but I still need them in just the right spot AND just the right color!  Even when I thought I had the color just right....by the time I got to the photograph, they had changed ever so slightly!  Here is a look at the sketch, so you can come play along-

My floral image and banner were stamped in Intense Black ink and then colored with Copics. I popped them up on a stitched die cut panel.  My splatter was created with Thistle reinker, lightly sprayed with water.  A few bitty sparkles finish it off.

Urban Birthday Card

I needed a quick masculine birthday card and Urban fit the bill! I seriously need to come up with a stash of masculine birthday cards, floral birthday cards just do not work for the guys!  I created this card with the help of the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch and the color challenge at Color Throwdown-

It might not look it, but my card really is pretty clean and simple! All of the grunge is thanks to the great papers that are included in the Urban Paper Pack. The colors were perfect for the color challenge! Urban is part of the Bring Back My Pack promotion.  The collection is available to purchase until January 31, 2020. Here is a look at the complete collection-

You can purchase the whole collection at a 20% savings or just purchase the parts you would like.  My card utilizes the paper pack and the stamp set.  All of the grunge on my card is from the papers.  The skyline and birthday sentiment are stamped in Sapphire Ink directly onto the pattern papers as well.

The Paper Players #473

We have a new challenge today at The Paper Players!  Anne Marie has chosen some great colors for a color challenge this week! The colors are Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and a neutral of your choice.  You do not have to use Stampin Up colors, just some variation of.  I converted the Stampin Up colors to Close To My Heart Candy Apple, Fern, Eggplant and Mink.

I inked up the stamp set from the Spruced Up Cardmaking Kit in Intense Black Ink.  Intense Black is my go to ink!  It works great for coloring with Copics and with using Gamsol on colored pencils.  I then colored my image with Copics. My bouquet of flowers is popped up with 3-D foam tape, as well as my sentiment banner. I first stamped my sentiment banner on white with Intense Black.  I decided I wanted it to "pop" more, so I colored in the banner with Copics as well. My card is based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches-

You are Amazing!

The bold sentiments in the January Stamp of the Month, Everyday Magic, can totally stand alone!  I just love the script font.  I kept this card super simple and let the sentiment stand out! I embossed my Sangria panel with the Stitched Circles Embossing Folder.  After embossing, I rubbed some super fine sand paper over the top to allow the white core to show through.  If you have yet to try Close To My Heart cardstock, it is two toned and has a white core.  The cardstock features one shade on the front and a lighter shade on the back.  The core is white to allow you to create special effects. The two tones are great for finding just the right color for your project. Here is a sampling of the colors available-

You can purchase the cardstock in a variety of ways: single bulk packs, coordinating packs and custom packs of 12 to 24 sheets. You can view all of the cardstock options here.  Don't forget,  you can add the January Stamp of the Month to a qualifying order for only $5!  This set is perfect for sending out positive vibes in the New Year-

Southern Girls Anything Goes Challenge

So excited to announce that I am on the Design Team over at the Southern Girls Challenge in 2020! I have been playing along with their challenges since 2012 and am excited to join the team!  In 2020, Southern Girls is changing to an Anything Goes Challenge, so all of your projects are welcome! I created my card with stamps from Newton's Nook, which is one of our challenge sponsors this month. My papers are from the Every Little Thing line by Close To My Heart, which is still available in the Online Only section of my store.

I created my card with the mint watercolor paper from the packet.  I applied texture paste with the Confetti Stencil and then poured loose glitter over the top, while the paste was still wet. For my balloon, I stamped my sentiment with Stazon ink on top of acetate. My shaker contents are a mix of sequins and cutouts from the balloon dies. Such a fun and festive card!

The Paper Players #472

Super excited to announce that I am a Guest Designer over at The Paper Players for 2020! I have been playing in their challenges since 2012!  All products and styles are welcome, so come join us!  Our theme this week is Something New, which you can interpret however you would like.  I obviously went with the new baby theme!

My card was created with some well loved favorites, which are now mostly retired.  I just love that elephant stamp!  My elephant was colored with Prismacolor pencils and shaded with Gamsol.  I really think pencils are the most forgiving color medium. The papers are from the Zoe Collection, and there are still a few packs available in the Online Only section of my website.

I combined my theme challenge with the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch-

Hello Friend

So loving the Spruced Up papers and stamps!  The whole collection is AWESOME! This is my take 2 on creating a card with the Spruced Up Cardmaking Workshop Kit.  I just love this floral image and it totally works with or without the vase!  They are die cut separately, so you can choose! Here is a look at the complete kit contents-

The only additions on my card are a piece of Sangria cardstock and  inks!  Everything else was included in the kit contents!  For my images, I stamped them with Intense Black ink and then colored the images with Prismacolor pencils.  I blended my pencils with Gamsol.  My banner and floral image are popped up with 3-D foam tape. The green strip behind my panel is two layers of the decorative zip strip which is included on Close To My Heart papers.  These zip strips are perfect for embellishments or trim on your scrapbook pages. I added a subtle background to my pink background my stamping the small flower stamp with Ballerina ink.

Freshly Made Sketches #416

I am back with more of the Spruced Up line! This set comes with an assortment of pine branches, sentiments and birds facing opposite directions.  No mirroring your images for this set, Close To My Heart did it for you!  Here is a look at the complete set-

All of the images shaded in blue, come with coordinating Thin Cut dies! I stamped my bird with Intense Black ink and added a little bit of color with Prismacolor pencils.  For my pine branches, I first stamped the branch area with Espresso ink and then applied New England Ivy to the needles area.  I added a touch of color with pencils to the images. My bird is popped up with 3-D foam tape for more dimension and Liquid Glass applied as a glossy accent to the eye. I created my card based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches-

Spruced Up Cardmaking Workshop

Have you checked out the gorgeous new products yet?  So much to love!  The Spruced Up line is my fav!  I love absolutely everything in it! You are sure to see a lot of it over the next two months! I am starting off with the Spruced Up Cardmaking Workshop Kit.  I so love the Workshop Kits!  My love for them is the unique stamp and dies that are included in the Kits.  The Kits come with materials and instructions to create twelve cards. You get a cutting diagram and full color sample photos to guide you along.  The kits are perfect for the beginner and experienced crafter. I'll be honest, I rarely create the "kit cards".  I beat to my own drummer.  Do I use all the supplies?  Absolutely,  just in a different form! This card is one example.  I created my card based on the sketch challenge at Inspire.Create. Challenges.

I used the kit contents, just created my own unique card. The kits are an awesome assortment of coordinating products that will either walk you through projects or you can create your own creations.  Here is a look at the kit contents-

For my card, I inked up my images with Intense Black ink.  I then colored my images with Prismacolor pencils, shaded with Gamsol.  I die cut my floral and banner images.  I then popped them up with 3-D foam on my card for added dimension. I love the Sending Comfort sentiment, you can use this is so many ways!  It could easily be a Get Well or Sympathy card.  I did have a little helper today, he posed ever so cute, while taking up my precious desk space!  Meet Chester, who definitely beats to his own drummer!
