CAS(E) this Sketch #369

My original vision for this card did not pan out.  I had planned on messy watercolor stripes, but I struggle with making messy, mixed media cards! I made multiple attempts and decided I needed to move on.  I took heavy inspiration from Chrissy Larson for my card, as I loved her clean lines! My card is based on the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch-

My card is super simple, a few strips of cardstock from the scrap pile made into a die cut panel.  I heat embossed my sentiment to make sure that it stood out on the dark green cardstock.  And of course, I had to add in my favorite little graduation cap stamp!

For the Graduate

In my quest to get graduation cards completed, I am hitting up all the sketch challenge sites.  Fusion is having a great Let Us Remember Challenge.  While I would  have loved to combined the theme and sketch for the challenge.....I seriously need way more graduation cards!  So, I have went with just the sketch-

I was excited to find this gem of an embossing folder in my stash. Chances are it has resided there for some time, still in it's wrapper! I love the simply elegance the embossing folder adds to my otherwise CAS card.

Just Add Ink #502

Another CAS graduation card!  I am certainly getting some mileage out of this graduation cap stamp!  It has been in my stash for some time, but is currently living in my Misti!  My card is based on the sketch challenge at Just Add Ink-

I basically followed the sketch exactly, using up some scrap bits and pieces for the design. A little bit of bling from black glitter cardstock and some added dimension on my cap finish off the card.

My sentiment and cap were stamped with Intense Black ink.  I added in color with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. My cap was adhered with 3-D foam tape.

Freshly Made Sketches #432

Be prepared for an onslaught of graduation cards!  I have many to create for myself as well as a few custom orders.  I only mass produce cards by request, as I prefer all of my creations to be unique.  I am hitting up all my favorite sketch challenges to help out with the task.  This card is based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches-

My desk is currently a sea of green and gold with a mix of graduation stamps! I kept my card super simple, letting the stitched dies add in the details. My yellow stitched center stripe is from a frame die, I just cut off the top strip. My sentiment and cap are stamped in Intense Black ink with color added with Prismacolor pencils.  The pencils are blended out with Gamsol.  The cap was adhered with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #365

Our school has followed many others in announcing there will be no graduation ceremonies.  The seniors are super bummed! I am working on a stash of cards to acknowledge their efforts.  This card was created based on the sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge,

To create my card, I dry embossed a panel of Evergreen cardstock and then cut the panel into 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" strips.  The strips were adhered to a panel of Saffron cardstock and then die cut with a stitched rectangle frame. My sentiment and cap were inked with Intense Black ink.  Color was added to the cap with Prismacolor pencils and then blended with Gamsol. The cap was adhered with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.

The Paper Players #488

Laurie is having a sketch challenge this week at The Paper Players!  The sketch was perfect to bring you a sneak peek of new products to come! This gorgeous flower stamp is part of A Million Little Things stamp set, which will be released in May! I am far from a flower expert, but decided to go with a variation of Black Eyed Susan.  If I am totally wrong on the type of flower this stamp represents, please feel free to leave me a comment!  Regardless, I am sure you will see many variations of colors on this stamp set to come!  Here is the original sketch design, so you can come play along-

I started my card by stamping my floral image onto a 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" panel of White Daisy cardstock in Intense Black ink.  I then added in color with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol.  My thanks sentiment was die cut three times in black and adhered together with Liquid Glass for added dimension.  A few enamel dots finish off the panel.  The panel was matted in black and adhered to a embossed panel of Saffron cardstock, which is also matted in black. Here is a sneak peek of the new stamp set to come!

CAS(E) this Sketch #368

All of this stay at home business, has really cut into my craft time!  While, I know it has the opposite effect for most of you!  It is hard to disappear to the craft room when there are soo many people around!  Graduation or some variation thereof  is fast approaching, so I need to get to stamping!  I managed to create a quick graduation card for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge-

My card is super simple, my graduation cap is stamped in Intense Black ink and then color added with Prismacolor pencils.  Our school colors are green and gold for the tassels. You could easily stamp the caps directly onto the panel...but I had to add a little dimension.  I fussy cut the caps and adhered with 3-D foam tape.

The Paper Players #487

Anne Marie is hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge this week with a Sparkle theme at The Paper Players! In keeping with the CAS, I decided to go with my sparkly unicorns.  The sparkle sentiment totally works as well!

My card is created with the super fun Unicorn Dreams stamp set with coordinating Thin Cuts.  I have always been an avid horse fan, so unicorns are a close second.  My favorite part about this set, is I feel I can add some color to the mane and tail and call it done!  The cards come together super fast!  Here is a look at the complete set-

To create my card, I started with a die cut panel of White Daisy Cardstock.  I sponged on some pink clouds with Ballerina ink. Let's face it, if we can have unicorns, we can have pink clouds too!  I stamped my sentiment and diamonds in Thistle ink.  My unicorn was stamped in Intense Black ink and then a touch of color added with Copic markers.  I added in some sparkle with a Shimmer Brush pen.  My photos don't do the sparkle justice! A few bitty sparkles finishes off the card.

My card is based on the sketch challenge at AAA Cards. It is a CAS Challenge with the optional twist of it flies.

Keeping it CAS for the AAA Cards Sketch Challenge.  The optional theme is It Flies.  If memory serves, Nemo comes close to flying in the movie....so it fits!

My card is super simple.  I die cut my panel and frame out of White Daisy cardstock.  I sponged on Carolina ink for my water background.  My clown fish were stamped in Intense Black ink and then color added with Prismacolor pencils.  My stamps and sentiment are from the April Stamp of the Month, O-fish-ally Awesome.  This set includes 37 stamps and can be added to a qualifying order for only $5!  Here is a look at the complete set-

Hang in There...

Hang in there, sweet friends!  Hope everyone is adjusting to the new normal!  I have gotten over my anxiety of going grocery shopping....I don't go in the store anymore!  I have never been a fan of the pick up option...but I figure chances are the store does not have my first choice anyways...so just give me what you have! My son is turning into a huge fan....he just clicks to his hearts content on the shopping app without having to leave the house!  This is our new normal!  Hope you are all doing well! I created my card based on the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps-

My stamp is from a retired set by Close To My Heart, Growing Through It.  I found the sentiment fitting for the current times!  I stamped my image in Intense Black ink and then added color with Prismacolor pencils.  My pencils were blended with Gamsol.  I fussy cut the image and applied with 3-D foam tape.  Super simple and great for a little pick me up!

CAS(E) this Sketch #367

Playing with some bright colors today!  Winter has returned to Wyoming, snow and all!  9 degrees this morning.  I was so looking forward to Spring, obviously going to have to wait a little longer!  I pulled out some oldie but goodie supplies to play along with the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge-

I might have a slight hoarding problem when it comes to 6x6 pads of paper!  I seem to have quite the collection going and they are neatly stored away.  While, I am glad they are neatly stored away....it also means I rarely get them out!  Once they leave my desk, they disappear to never see the light of day again!  So, I not only go them out to play....I re-homed some as well, where hopefully they will feel more love!

For this card, I let the papers and a few dies do all the work.  The fun bright colors are from the Surprise! Collection by Bo Bunny.  Chances are this paper is decades old!  I have no recollection of even making the purchase!  I paired the bright colors with some retired Cranberry cardstock by Close To My Heart to tie the card all together. The happy and balloon were die cut three times and adhered together for added dimension.
