The Paper Players #509

Time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  LeAnne is hosting a Clean and Simple Pets Challenge this week. I pulled out some old favorites to play along.

My cute little Scottie dog is from the A Bowwow stamp set, which goes way back.  The stamp's cuteness earned it a spot in my stamp collection.  I basically have two stamp collections....one that is a revolving door of new products and those old favorites.  The new stamps are often getting the most ink...so it was time to play with some of the old favorites.  My card is super simple.  I inked up my stamps with Intense Black ink and then added in color with Primascolor pencils.  I blended out some of the pencils with Gamsol.  I kept the blending on the coarse side to mimic the coat of the dog.  I couldn't resist adding a tiny bit of bling to the color.  Plaid and Scotties always seem to go together, so I added in some color with paper from the long retired Cruisin line.

The Paper Players #508

Time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  Anne Marie is hosting a color challenge this week.  We want to see your creations with Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze and Blackberry Bliss with added glitter or foil.  You do not have to use the exact colors, but at least a close variation of the same.

I went totally unconventional with my color scheme....mostly because I had new stamps that needed to be inked! In my youth, I showed horses and always had boots in a rainbow of colors. While purple boots might not be for everyone....I would have totally worn them!  My boots image is from the newly released Bloom with Grace Scrapbooking stamp set.  This set is available with or without Thin Cuts.

To create my card, I stamped my image in Intense Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I blended out the pencils with Gamsol.  I will admit, I totally spaced the glitter or foil part of this challenge!  I went in and added glitter to my sunflowers with a shimmer brush to compensate. My image was die cut and applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. A few bitty sparkles add a tiny bit of bling.  My sentiment is from the new Craft with Heart card subscription.

The Paper Players #507

Welcome to September and cooler temps! We have already had a couple of freezes in the mountains, winter will be here soon! I so love the crisp evenings of Fall, but they are very short lived in Wyoming.  Our Fall only seems to last a few weeks before we are in the dead of winter! We are having a new challenge this week at The Paper Players, we want to see your masculine birthday cards!

Living out west, we have a ton of wildlife...so the majority of my masculine makes feature wildlife is some form!  The Wild and Free stamp set is perfect for creating masculine projects.  This set is retired, but is still available to purchase in the Online Only section of my store.  You can purchase the set with or without Thin Cuts dies.

Nothing goes better with wildlife than wood grain and burlap!  Close To My Heart just released an awesome collection of wood grain papers.  The Wood Grain paper pack features 12 sheets of 12x12 paper, 2 sheets each of six double sided designs.  Here is a look at the complete pack-

To create my card, I stamped my elk image in Intense Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I blended the pencils out with Gamsol.  I then die cut my image and applied 3-D foam tape to the back for added dimension.  I used a mix of toffee, wood grain, burlap and black for my card base. A few negatives from a wooden arrow finish off the card.
