The Paper Players #514

Time for a  new challenge at The Paper Players!  Jaydee has a super versatile sketch challenge this week. We can't wait to see your creations in the gallery.  Here is the original sketch design-

I so love the Autumn Blessings stamp set.  The sketch was the perfect opportunity to let the individual pumpkin stamps shine!  My pumpkins were stamped in Intense Black ink then colored with Copics.  The pumpkins were applied to my burlap rectangles with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  To ground my rectangles, I tied them all together with a few pieces of burlap twine. My sentiment was stamped in Espresso ink. Here is a look at the complete Autumn Blessings stamp set-

Freshly Made Sketches #458

A pop of color for a super simple birthday card.  The sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches is a great way to use up some of those scraps you have been hoarding!

To assemble my card, I cut some scraps 1" x 3" in size and then matted in Nectarine and Raspberry cardstock.  The layers were applied to a panel of White Daisy cardstock. To make the card pop, I added a layered bow and a scattering of sequins.  My sentiment is from the October Stamp of the Month,  With All My Love

This elegant stamp set is only available to purchase in the month of October.  You can add this set to a qualifying order for only $5.  You can view the complete line of Close To My Heart products here.

Christmas Blessings

Have you started your holiday cardmaking?  If not, the clock is ticking!  I am a bit behind in my holiday crafting, so you can expect to start seeing multiple Christmas cards.  Today, I am doing a remake of the Craft with Heart card subscription. If you are not familiar with Craft with Heart, it is a subscription where you receive regular deliveries of cardmaking or scrapbooking supplies.  The only thing you need to add to the kit is adhesive. The kits are great for beginner and experienced crafters alike.  The card kit includes contents to create 24 cards, 2 each of 12 designs.  You all know that I rarely create the same card twice.  Mass production is just not my thing, unless it is a special request.  The card kits are perfect for me to create the sample card and then branch out with the contents to create card two.  All I added to card two, shown above, was a little bit of cardstock and a few sequins.  I based the card on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches-

The card kits come with pre-printed card bases.  For my second take on the card design, I simply cut the card base and use the printed base just like you would pattern papers. I added in French Vanilla and New England Ivy cardstock to go along with the sketch design.  If you are more comfortable following along with step by step instructions (the kit  includes color instructions), here is how the card is intended to be created-

Both are great cards, the top version is just more my style.  Love my layers! Two Christmas cards down....and countless more to go! If you are interested in the Craft with Heart program, here is samples of the current card kit-

Each kit contains an exclusive stamp set, so you can easily change out the sentiments.  A  mini block and stamp pad are also included!  Here is a look at the current stamp set-

The Paper Players #513

It's Clean and Simple week at The Paper Players!  Laurie is hosting and we would like to see your creations with cookies, cupcakes or cake! I could so go for a cupcake right now and can't wait to see what you create!

I went with super simple and created my card with the Party Time Paper Packet. The coordinating sticker sheet is great for creating quick cards.  My love for Close To My Heart started many years ago with their coordinating products.  The color coordinating makes life in the craft room soo much easier.  The cardstock, pattern papers, inks, embellishments all color coordinate.  No endless searching for just the right color of cardstock to go along with your pattern papers!

My card was created with the fun polka dot print with a pop of Raspberry.  I popped up the coordinating cupcake sticker with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. The scalloped frame die keeps it all on the clean side.  My sentiment is from the current Stamp of the Month, With All My Love

This is the first time this set has seen some ink!  Now that it has made it to the craft table, you are sure to see more creations with it!  This set can be added to a qualifying order for only $5 during the month of October.

MFT Sketch Challenge #511

I am always torn.....craft or clean?  I mean my first choice is craft.....but I "sometimes" think I should really be cleaning instead!  I get so much more satisfaction with crafting though!  Nothing worse than spending hours cleaning and 15 minutes later you can't even tell!  I can thank the many two legged and four legged children! So, jumping on with a quick card today....then off to clean!  Sigh!  My card is based on the sketch challenge at MFT.

Super simple to create.  I used a few scrap pieces of Got Candy paper and the new Happy Halloween Web stamp set.  I inked up my web image in Intense Black ink.  While it is hard to tell in the photo, the spider is popped up on 3-D foam tape, which gives him much more dimension!  The spider is from the fun sequin mix in the Got Candy line up. The Happy Halloween stamp set is the perfect size for creating cards or scrapbooks, here is the complete set-

Freshly Made Sketches #456

Getting my sunflower fix for the day!  I wouldn't say that yellow is my color...but I love how sunflowers pop!  A quick and simple card for the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches-

I created my card with a lot of help from the Bloom with Grace papers!  Can you tell this sunflower print is my absolute favorite!  It is just so cheerful.  The sunflowers pair well with the sentiments from the A Million Little Things stamp set. While this set is on the retired list, a few sets remain in the Online Only section of my website.  The Online Only section is a treasure trove of items that are not featured in any of the current print catalogs!  Here is a look at the complete set-

To create my card, I inked my sentiment in Intense Black ink.  I added in a few ink spots with Fern ink.  I am totally not a messy stamper (unless of course you are looking at the craft room), so adding ink with stamps is totally my thing! While being totally honest....I probably need a new blade in my trimmer and my white edges were not super sharp.  No worries, I just went along with the edges with my scissors to add a texture to the whole panel!  No paper was wasted in the creating of this card!  My sunflower is part of the sticker sheet that is available with the paper packet.  I added a  little burlap twine and popped up the sunflower with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.

The Paper Players #512

I so love Fall....too bad it only lasts a couple of days in Wyoming!  At least that is what it seems like.  Once the leave start falling, the snow is sure to start flying!  Ann is hosting a color challenge this week at The Paper Players, which is perfect for your Fall creations.

You might have to look closely, but I did use all four colors on my pumpkin scene! My pumpkins are colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol.  I used a mix of the Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze for the pumpkins and a mix of Mossy Meadow and Cinnamon Cider for the pumpkin stems. My card is created with one of my favorite Fall sets, Autumn Blessings.  In case you missed out on this set in the past, it is still available in the Online Only section of my website. Here is a look at the complete set-

To create my card, I started with a panel of Colonial White cardstock.  I first die cut the panel with a stitched cover die.  I then stamped the vine image in New England Ivy ink.  My sentiment was stamped in Paprika ink.  I stamped my row of pumpkins in Intense Black on a separate piece of cardstock and then die cut the image. The pumpkin were colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol.  The image was then applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  Who else got new toys in Stamptember?  The thin rectangle border is from a new to me Frames die set by Simon Says Stamp.  I so  love the look.  I am sure I should have been able to recreate the look with the many rectangle dies I already owned....but I have no patience.  This is coming from a person who can not hang a picture straight on the wall....which sometimes carries over into my crafting!  With that said, it took me longer to apply the border than to create the whole card! A few bitty sequins finishes off the card.

Stand Tall

Stand tall and find the sun.....or the craft room, whatever works best for you!  Life has so gotten in the way of my crafting the past few months....it seems the hits from 2020 just keep coming.  Today, I have found the sun, shining through into my craft room!  Super simple card with a great message for the times, based on the sketch challenge at Fusion Card Challenges.

I primarily went with the sketch for my entry, though  you could totally find sunflowers on the farm! My gorgeous sunflower panel is actually a Picture My Life card.  While these cards are intended for scrapbooking, I often keep them in my stash for some quick cardmaking! This set of cards is from the Bloom with Grace Collection.  You get 24 double sided cards in each pack.  Here is a sample of the some of the designs that are included-

The panel came in a 4"x6" size to go along with the Picture My Life albums.  I simply trimmed the panel to fit my A2 card base and added in a few banners and bitty sequins.

The Paper Players #511

Happy Fall! Time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  Claire is hosting a Theme Challenge this week, we want to see your creations with Fall Critters.  While I collect many stamps...the horse category is  my favorite.  Horses have even managed to get their very own stamp drawer!  This cute little stamp is by CD Stamps, which sadly is no longer in business. They had a complete line of these horse stamps, affectionately named Charlie. I have had this stamp for many years, but this is the first time it is seeing ink!  My card is based on the sketch challenge at The Spot Challenges-

To create my card, I inked up my horse stamp in Intense Black ink and then added color with Prismacolor pencils.  To achieve the fall leaves look, I seriously just scribbled on various colors and then blended them out with Gamsol.  I started out coloring each individual leaf and was not getting the desired results.  Scribbling was much more fun and gave the leaves more of a natural look! I matted the oval in Saffron and Paprika cardstock. In keeping with the fall theme, I added a bit of burlap.  For added texture, I embossed my panel with the Wood Panel embossing folder. The sentiment was popped up with 3-D foam tape.

CAS(E) this Sketch #392

I so love the sunflower print in the Bloom with Grace papers!  This is one of those papers that I want to hoard away to insure I have plenty for future use!  The paper totally makes the card all by itself.  My card is based on the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch-

I pretty  much followed the sketch to a T.  It is a super easy and versatile sketch to work with.  I started my card by embossing a piece of White Daisy cardstock with the new Wood Panel Embossing Folder.  My sentiment was stamped in Fern ink and mounted with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  A few twine pieces finish off the card.
