Just a Note Thank You

It is no secret, I am a big fan of the Craft with Heart Subscription Kits offered by Close To My Heart.  Kits are available for cardmaking and scrapbooking.  The card kits come with supplies to create 24 cards.  The scrapbook kits come with supplies to create complete 12 x12 layouts. I love receiving a fun box of goodies to craft with! Here is a look at the cards you can create with the current kit-

While you only need to add adhesive to the kits....I prefer to mix and match the contents with my other supplies. For this card, I subbed in the bold Just a Note sentiment stamp set.  I am always in need of Thank You notes, and this one came together super easy.  The Just a Note set includes 5 stamps and is a great addition to your sentiment collections!  Here is a look at the complete set-

To create my card, I stamped my sentiments onto the card base with Sapphire ink.  I applied the cluster of die cut flowers with 3-D foam dots for added dimension.  A few bitty sparkles finish off the card.

Last Call for Winged Masterpiece

March has certainly flown by!  This is your last call for the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece.  You only have one day left to add the March Stamp of the Month to your collection. This set retires March 31! The gorgeous images in this set totally stand alone.  My card is super simple to create and is based on the sketch challenge at The Paper Players.  Here is the original sketch design-

I started by stamping my butterfly image in Intense Black ink.  Color was added with Copic markers.  After coloring the image, I added score lines along the body of the butterfly.  This allows you to lift the wings to give your butterfly flight.  A few strips of pattern paper from the Daisy Meadows and Mix In Collection follow along with the color scheme. A vellum circle was added to ground my butterfly. The butterfly image was applied with Liquid Glass along the body only.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #413

Sweet birthday wishes with the Party Time Collection!  I so love how the Party Time Collection is two toned, you have pink tones on one side and blue on the other.  This paper pack totally works whether you need masculine or feminine projects.  My card is based on the new sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  Here is the original sketch design for you to play along.

Instead of a floral element, I went with banners and presents for a festive birthday card.  My banner is from the sticker sheet that is available in the Party Time Collection.  I popped up the banner with 3-D foam dots for added dimension.  My row of presents was fussy cut from a Picture My Life card and applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  I am all about dimension, so my birthday sentiment was die cut three times in Raspberry cardstock and adhered together.  A few sequins finish off the card.

Have you subscribed to the Craft with Heart subscription program?  If not, you are missing out!  These fun kits come with the supplies needed to create 24 cards. I started with one of the card bases and added in a banner, border and frame in Smoothie cardstock.  I stamped a little floral background on my banner strip with the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece.  The scalloped circle is from the die cut elements included in the kit.  The circle was applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension. My sentiment is from the exclusive stamp set. A fussy cut floral image and enamel dots finish off the card.

Floral Backgrounds

The Paper Players is having a color challenge this week!  The colors were perfect for creating with the Floral Background Thin Cuts die. I went with Fern, Wisteria and a long retired unknown blue as stand ins for the color challenge.

To create my card, I started by die cutting the floral background panel die twice, once in Fern and once in Wisteria.  I then used the Fern panel as my base.  A little fussy cutting later, and the Wisteria flowers were applied to the Fern background.  I had originally planned on sponging on a blue background, but just happened to come across the light blue piece of pattern paper in my scrap drawer.  I decided it was a perfect fit!  Color was added to the center of the flowers with a Copic marker.

To showcase my sentiment, I layered the Stitched Scalloped Brackets Thin Cuts on the front, adding in a strip of Wisteria ribbon between the layers.  Overall a super simple card, with a great pop of color!

Gamer Birthday Card

My favorite thing about crafting is the ability to make unique creations, tailored to the recipient.  I dug deep into the paper stash to create a gamer themed birthday card.  My card is based on the sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges-

The gamer themed paper is from the Boy Oh Boy paper pad by Carta Bella.  I have had this in my collection for many years, so chances are it is long retired.  The vast majority of my card is created with retired goodies.  This is why we have collections, right?

In keeping with my love of dimension, my circles were applied with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  I die-cut extra layers for my game controller to mimic the actual button controls.  A few stars were cut from the same paper pack to use as coordinating embellishments.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #412

Time for a new sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! I hope you are not getting tired of seeing the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece.  I just love this set!  I went with super simple, for a wedding theme. The black and white just reminds me of a black tie event!  The gorgeous butterfly totally stands on it's own with no coloring required.  Here is the original sketch design-

In keeping with the sketch, I embossed my top layer.  I kept the bottom layer plain for easy stamping of my sentiment.  My images were stamped in black pigment ink and clear embossed.  Score lines were added along the body of the butterfly. The score lines make it easy to give your butterfly "flight".  I applied Liquid Glass adhesive along the body.  Almost all of my cards are mailed, so using a super strong adhesive helps them arrive intact!

My card was created with the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece.  This set is truly a masterpiece!  You can add this set to a qualifying order for only $5.  VIP members can earn the set for free.  The set can also be purchased as a stand alone item.  The set is only available to order during the month of March.  You can get all the details here.

Make a Wish

Let's talk about the Craft with Heart subscription program.  This program provides all of the materials you need to complete 24 cards.  There is also a scrapbook layout program as well.  At first glance, many might think the kits are geared to the beginner card maker. While the kits are a great starting point for those that are just starting out, the kits have a wealth of supplies that are perfect for the advanced card maker as well.  I often take the supplies that are included in the kits and mix and match them with my other supplies, as I have done with this card.

The kits come with everything you need to add fun elements to your cards, such as the shaker element shown here.  I chose to combine the shaker element with other papers in my collection to create a unique card.  The kit does come with full color instructions to complete cards...but no on says you have to follow along.  You can easily use the elements to make your own unique design.  The kits come with card bases, envelopes, die cut elements, an exclusive stamp set, cube ink pad and a stamping block.  You can literally just supply adhesive and get creative!  Here is a look at the current kit-

Make the Cards Challenge #8

So excited to be chosen as the Featured Creator with the Make the Cards Challenge!  We are having a color challenge this week and hope you will come play along. I chose Fern, Saffron and Sapphire for my three colors.

I am getting a lot of mileage out of the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece.   I used a variety of the smaller images and stamped a tone on tone background with the coordinating inks for each color.  This is such a versatile stamp set!  Here is all of the images that are included-

My dragonfly was stamped in Intense Black ink and colored with Copics.  While it is hard to see in pics, I went over the image with a gold shimmer brush.  Score lines were added along the body of the dragonfly to allow the wings to take "flight".  A few sequins finish off the card,

Freshly Made Sketches #476

I so love the March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece. The images that are included are stunning! My card took a turn from my original thought.  I originally was using a rainbow zip strip for my strips and I colored my butterfly to match the colors in my rainbow strip.  Once complete though, I felt like I had too much going on.  I swapped out the rainbow strips for black cardstock and love the end result!  My card is based on the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Here is the original sketch design-

My card is really super simple and easy to re-create.  I started by stamping my butterfly in Intense Black ink and coloring with Copics.  I then fussy cut the image.  After fussy cutting, I scored along the body of the butterfly.  By adding score lines, you can easily lift the wings for "flight".  I adhered three strips of black cardstock onto a white card base, which was die cut with a stitched panel die. To mount my butterfly, I applied Liquid Glass adhesive on the body only.  I recommend a strong adhesive for this technique to make sure your butterfly stays in place. My sentiment was stamped in Intense Black ink as well.

The March Stamp of the Month, Winged Masterpiece, is only available to purchase during the month of March.  The set retires as of March 31, 2021.  You can add this set to a qualifying order for only $5!  VIP members can earn the set for FREE.  You can find out all the details here.  Here is a look at the complete set-
